“I got soul, but I’m not a soldier.”

The Killers, “All These Things That I’ve Done”, Hot Fuss

Brian’s family got the $299 Celeron system from Dell, so here I am.  Hopefully my posts will become fairly regular again.  I expect to post about once a week.  Anyway, I know I’ve said bad things about Celeron processors in the past, but this 2.60 GHz Celeron is about 20-30 times better than the 450 MHz AMD in their old computer.  …Did I say “20-30 times better”?  I meant “20-30 percent better”.  This thing is a hunk o’ shit.  Only 4 PCI slots and no AGP slots.  His old video card won’t work in this, so they can’t play all of their games.  Good job Intel Integrated Graphics!  I know I’m going with an AMD 64-bit processor when I get a computer.  Maybe a dual-core Pentium.  I guess for $299 it’s not such a bad deal.  I plan to spend at least $1000.  Holy shit on a stick do I need a job.

In response to Jason’s [Recurring Themes In Fiction] criticism of the Cadillac, for my budget, it’s either that or Matt’s old Chevy truck with …brace thineself… no radio, tape deck, or other audio equipment.  Also, I can’t sing worth two shits, so that out of the question.
